 PAM for Pastoralists

Looking for a practical, simple to use but sophisticated suite of software for your pastoral cattle or sheep operation?

PAM QA Plus – the complete suite for pastoralists.

The History…

Back in 1988 Fairport developed PAM to cater for the needs of the general “broad acre” (wheat and sheep) type farmers.

Early in the 1900’s Heytesbury Beef of Western Australia and S Kidman & Co of South Australia bought many copies of PAM to help them better manage their vast pastoral operations.

Later in the 1990’s Fairport won a tender process to supply the Australian Agricultural Company with software for their cattle stations spread across Queensland and the Northern Territory. At their request we enhanced PAM in many ways to cater for the particular needs of their operation. Fairport have also developed a comprehensive livestock inventory and Management Information System for AACo which they operate at their head office in Brisbane. This software (LIS) is kept up to date via automated emails from the PAM systems on the remote stations. In addition we have developed an excellent Livestock Budgeting System (LSB) for AACo which also uses data from PAM and also send data to LIS where their entire corporate livestock budget can be viewed, analysed and compared with the actuals as time goes by.

Today pastoralists are using PAM and PAM’s Mapping Module to get better control of their operations across the entire breadth of Australia. Many stations in Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia and the NT use PAM’s IAR (Individual Animal Records) Module to keep track of their breeding herds. Both sheep and cattle station operators find PAM invaluable.

To get the benefit of our mapping software features, some pastoralists have opted to purchase just gpMapper to map their holdings.
