PAM for Viticulture
Serve-Ag, our PAM Ultracrop distributors had received requests for several new features to make this program more suitable for small and large scale viticulture clients. We now have some of Australia's largest wine producers using this software and are anticipating many more in the near future.
Our USA distributor is gearing up to start selling this product and the other PAM versions later this financial year after some more minor enhancements and some training from Roger in May.
In March we released a new viticulture specific version of the PAM Ultracrop series of software.
· As the name suggests, this is for vignerons only, however Multiclient users with this version can view client data from the standard PAM and PAM Ultracrop programs.
· The perennial nature of grapes is "hard wired" into the program.
· Terminology specific to the grape production industry has been used
· Growth stages specific to grape production are catered for
· Varieties, Clones and Rootstock configuration has been included to keep track of your varietal improvements and to enable Variety-wise reporting
· New reports have been added to PAM UltraCrop; Crop Monitoring Reports and Yield Estimate Reports
Contact Serve-Ag or your local Fairport dealer for more information on PAM Ultracrop & Viticulture Specific. Pricing: $1499 and $1999 with Mapping (ex GST).Staff News
Our office administrator Shorna left in early February to have a baby. She gave birth to a boy on March the 1st. Congratulations and well done to Shorna and Andrew.
Jodie Scott has taken over Shorna's role. Jodie is the daughter of a dairy farmer from the South West of WA. She recently graduated from the Alexander Business College and has fitted into life at Fairport very well.
Many of you will remember Dianne Zacher. Dianne was married on February 9th and is now happily into married life with her man Martin.
Meanwhile Paul and Darren have fitted in very well. The team is working extremely well together and our internal QA policies are making for a smoother operation and more pleasant work environment.[top]
Roger's RamblingsMy travels this year to date have taken me back to Russia (this time via South Korea) for two weeks and to the GRDC Northern Region Conference in Goondiwindi (Southern Queensland). It was great to meet up with many of our clients at the conference and to meet many new influential people in the grains industry. It seems like minimum tillage (or zero tillage) and controlled traffic farming practices are the "way to go" in these Northern New South Wales/Southern Queensland areas.
SmartMap - NEW !!
After a short holiday in the Russian Altai mountains skiing and trekking about in the snow and ice, Roger got down to some serious business in Novosibirsk where he signed an agreement to distribute software from Vito Technologies. Vito write software for Palm and Pocket PC platforms and have a vast experience in this area and the area of mapping, photogrammetry and ortho-rectification of aerial photography. So stay tuned for further announcements about the SmartMap program for Pocket PCs and the Vito-Navigator software for both Palm and Pocket PC. This system can be used for on-the-go mapping and basic guidance/navigation. An aerial photo can be shown on the screen (if you want) and data can be exchanged between SmartMap and PAM, gpMapper, FamStar or the Vito Technologies desktop program "Map Manager". Map Manager will be included (bundled) with SmartMap. Keep an eye on our web site for up to date information. The SmartMap and Map Manager bundle is due for immediate release at $AUD 500.00.
PocketPAM News
A sixth program has been added to the suite of programs for the in-field data collector series. The Inventory program was added early in January 2002. This new program is fully integrated into the Crop and Livestock Diaries. Chemical and drug batch numbers are automatically updated. Existing PocketPAM users should download the latest upgrade from the web site.
PocketPAM sales have again been extremely encouraging over the past three months. More developments are in the wings, so stay tuned.
There has not been a price rise for the PocketPAM software even though we have added this new Inventory program..[top]
South Africa
Roger will be attending the Nampo Field Days in Bothaville, South Africa again this year. Christo Helm and his crew from Senwes are going "all out" this year to promote the Fairport and KEE products. Variable Rate Application technology is quite advanced in the maize growing areas of South Africa and Senwes are very happy with the software and hardware we are providing them to sell to their clients.
Agbis News
On March 21st Agbis Pty Ltd were appointed PAM distributors for Northern New South Wales and Queensland. Matt and Rose Meehan have made great progress over the past two years and earned the rights to take over these territories. They are currently seeking professional business partners in strategic areas to work with them on carrying out their training and marketing plan. Matt has already established a business partner in Dubbo (Greg) who has been training PAM clients every day for the past month. We here at Fairport are very excited at this new development and look forward to the results which Matt is confident he can deliver.
